Home internet: e& (Etisalat) vs du
Both providers have fibre across most of Dubai. Coverage by building decides more than the brand does.
Dubai has two main fixed-line internet providers: e& (the rebranded Etisalat group) and du. Most master-planned communities are served by one or the other — sometimes both.
The honest take
- Speeds and pricing are broadly competitive at any given tier — gigabit packages run in the same band.
- The bigger differentiator is which provider has fibre in your specific building. Many newer developments are single-provider.
- Customer-service experience varies more by where you live than which company you pick. Ask neighbours.
Tips for moving in
- Book installation about a week ahead of move-in if you can. Same-week slots exist but aren't guaranteed.
- If both providers serve your community, compare router quality and the bundle (TV, mobile, landline) — bundle pricing can shift the maths.
- Mobile data on a postpaid line can substitute for a few days while you wait. 5G coverage is wide.
For short stays or quick fits, both providers offer 4G/5G "Home Wireless" plans — slower than fibre but installable in minutes.
